Celebrating the Spirit of NVC in Action

NVCANZ Trust Board

Chairperson – Jocelyn Kennedy

Jocelyn, a co-founder and original chairperson of the Board, is delighted to return as chair in June 2020. She is excited by the potential that is opening to us at this time of global disruption for the co-creation of a more nonviolent world for all.
She resonates with Marshall Rosenberg’s vision of NVC as a powerful means for systemic change, rather than just another ‘tool’ to help people tolerate the status quo. It is her hope that serving on the ANZNVC Board will contribute to leveraging the power of NVC to impact systemic social change.
She lives in the Far North, where with an enthusiastic “Communication for Life” team, she aims to make NVC accessible for all who want it.

Secretary – Filipa Hope

Filipa is one of the original founders and trustee’s of the Aotearoa New Zealand NVC Charitable Trust.  She was Treasurer from 2008 through 2019 and is currently the Board Secretary.   She has been actively involved in Nonviolent Communication since 2005 and through her work Communication for Connection has been teaching NVC around the country since 2010 . She is a professional learning development contractor for the Ministry of Education and provides a free NVC practice group in Hawke’s Bay.  Filipa says “I source huge fulfillment from contributing to the growth and connection of the NVC community in Aotearoa and worldwide”. She is the author of NVConnect a comprehensive NVC  App for mobile devices. Read more about Filipa here.

Treasurer – Irma Jager

Irma joined the NVCANZ Trust as a Treasurer in December 2019. She has been actively involved in Nonviolent Communication since 2006 and offers trainings in the top of the South Island. She has a background in finance and administration and enjoys supporting the Trust as a board member. She is involved in a financial role within three other not-for-profit organisations and is thus experienced in the requirements of tracking and reporting.
