When children fight: NVC & micromediations – 4 Monday evenings till 21 Nov
31 October, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Conflicts are a part of life. Maybe even more so, when we are children.
Have you ever witnessed conflicts between children and wished for a way to support them, different than continuously being the police, judge and jury?
Do you wish to know how to support our children in conflict, so that they can get out of it with a sense of ‘win-win’ rather than ‘it’s my way or your way’?
Would you like to access the ability or the skills to go through conflict with trust that we can survive it, that we can hear each other and that possibly the solution will not be a sour compromise, but a way to meet all needs?
If this sounds appealing, exciting or even a little bit interesting – join us on this four-evening course to explore:
• Why we often see conflict as scary
• How to help children (siblings, friends, classmates) in being able to hear each other in conflict
• What possible real reasons are hiding behind fights for toys, cups and slices of cake
• How to move away from the ‘me-or-you’ outcome, to the one that will take all needs into account
• How to foster creativity and fun in creating solutions
During the workshop we will work based on Nonviolent Communication/NVC (www.cnvc.org) – a process developed by Marshall Rosenberg to foster open and honest communication. We will start off with exploring NVC and the basic four steps, and then move on to start applying some of the bits for our work mediating conflicts between children. So far NVC has been the most transformative part of my parenting journey, and I am delighted to be sharing my experience of it with you.
No previous experience with NVC is necessary.
The workshop is for all those who live, work or play with children – parents, teachers, caregivers, grandparents – who want to get some tools that will support them in mediating children’s conflicts. We will practice on real-life examples, experiment, discover and have fun.

What some participants say:
“I just loved the NVC from Conflict to connection with children course. The practical tools when put to use really really do create just that, connection with your children. The course was completely practical and I went away able to actually make tangible changes in how I interact with my children in the everyday challenging situations. Ania beautifully brings the material to life and challenges you to practice using the tools in a safe environment so you can go home and really use them with your family.”
